Horrible Insurance Company

My husband & I were with Liberty Mutual Insurance for years, up until two days ago. I went to make a payment, greeted by a very unprofessional & arrogant Rep on the phone. Instead of helping me she suggested I take my payment & go get an Insurance policy somewhere else. So she helped us alright, by making it easier to leave Liberty Mutual Ins. Co., & going somewhere else, this was long overdue, way to expensive, not a good customer atmosphere, she treated us like we did not matter & were beneath her. Like my husband said she opened the door & made it easier for us to leave. 'What a Blessing in disguise." We will be taking our Homeowner's Insurance Policy away as well & packing it with our new Insurance Co., who by the way were happy to have us, in such Profession.

Bad service

My parents booked online two single travel insurances with postpaid packages from Liberty Insurance Company four days ago (2018/04/02). But Liberty staff hasn’t contacted my parent to make a contract yet since then, although this sentence "Liberty staff will arrive at customer’s home and make a contract within 1-2 days” is written on the Liberty website. This morning (2018/04/06), my dad chatted online with Liberty staff and asked about their booking. They answered that “Liberty staff will be surely contacting you in the morning”, but, it is already over 1 pm now, no one contacted at all. Surely, Liberty only wants to do with the big contracts and does not pay attention to these small insurance contracts like my parent’s contract. We are extremely disappointed with Liberty's service. Thus, are you going to buy Liberty Insurance? PLEASE THINK AGAIN!

My husband is a Dentist in Bernville, PA. On June 23rd of last year we arrived at our place of business to find out that it had been destroyed by a flood.

The flood was a result of a leaky toilet that the landlord had been advised of during the week end but chose to ignore it. We know this by his owned admission. This had been the 4th flood caused by the negligence of the Landlord yet we had never placed a claim with our insurance coverage of 28 years. The other three floods my husband had taken care of the clean- up.

However, this flood was devastating since it came from above and our ceiling collapsed. The clean-up company hired by the landlord came in and cut out about 6 inches off the bottom of the walls and put fans in. My husband tried to advise the landlord that the entire walls needed to be replaced to no avail. In an effort to force the landlord to make the proper repairs to the dental office space we sent him a letter of our intention not to return to the premises.

We had been tenants of his for 28 years he would not do the bare minimum such as, a certifications to ensure no problem with mold. The Landlord was insistent that the premises were ready for us. As a result of this situation, Liberty Mutual who was the insurer for our loss of income insurance decided to stop paying loss of income benefits. I had many conversations with Paul Barnett the adjuster about this matter.

Mr. Barnett continued to affirm that the Landlord stated that the premises were ready and no more benefit would be paid. I sent him information from the EPA and only code that protects commercial tenants on implied warranty of fitness for particular purpose. We begged the Liberty Mutual adjuster to send set up an inspection since we did not feel that the premises were sanitary for the practice of dentistry.

His response was to re-state that the landlord said the premises were ready. Two pieces of equipment were damaged by the flood which they refused to pay for the repairs on. It is now 2017 and repairing this equipment is not wise since they have been sitting in disrepair this long. We have replacement option on our policy.

The cost of replacing these two pieces is almost $200,000.00. Still no benefits have been released. We have had to start litigation. Of course, we are encountering delays and continuances.

The denial of loss of income benefits, has put us in a very difficult financial situation that we cant seem to come out of no matter how hard we work. I wake up every day filled with anxiety and with shaky hands. I dont even recognize myself anymore. My husband is more quiet and feels embarrassed about our financial situation.

We feel that Liberty Mutual has been malicious in the withholding of benefits and would like to let as many people as possible know about our situation. Every time we see their commercials it kills us.

WHEN YOU USE THEIR WEBSITE TO REQUEST AN UPDATED POLICY AND I PUT IN THE LENDERS NAME IT COMES BACK AS INVALID NAME. HOW CAN THAT BE? I would like to be included in on this claim I filed a claim my car was vandalized and stolen on Mother's Day 2017 my computer was in the trunk of my car as well as a bunch of my belongings and I will never be able to replace what was lost my livelihood was completely violated I had Insurance on a car at the time but the insurance did not cover the car because it was just limited liability because it was my own personal car I had well over $6,000 worth of personal belongings inside the car in the trunk and everywhere else in the car I submit a claim to them which they denied and said they wanted to know my personal history they wanted to know my banking history with I was a welfare recipient and I was like how in the world does this matter I was violated my car was stolen from a friend's address and they had my document stating that they will cover me anywhere in the world no matter where I was for all of my personal belongings should they become stolen I previously filed two separate claims because upon moving to Las Vegas Nevada I did not know that my Honda Civic was quite a Target car and subject to being broken into as it was broken into three times since I've been here I found three separate police reports I have turned all of the information in and they swear by the fact that they believe that I am not eligible or was not eligible to receive any compensation in reference to my claim I feel like this is very wrong why in the world would I be paying a company to not give me what is Due Me! There would otherwise need be no need at all to have insurance if I wasn't going to be covered or able to file a claim or something happened it is not my fault that I have been ripped off three times moving to a different state I did not know that Las Vegas Nevada targets individuals with California license plates especially when they have Hondas I lived in South Central for many years and drove the same Honda and had absolutely no problems no one stole a thing I park my car at night in Compton at friend's house and in Long Beach in the worse is neighborhoods and not a thing happened I took my car to Vegas and every time I went I was robbed and for someone to be able to just make a way with all my personal blessings blessings I'm greatly offended my children's pictures were in the trunk my personal information was in my computer there's so many different things that were lost I had all new clothes that I just purchased for my daughter for about 2 weeks of services for Sunday and a million different other things that did not need to be stolen simply because I brought my car to Vegas as a matter of fact this particular time I was not robbed in North Vegas they just denied my claim and insisted that they be able to probe into my personal background is if that is going to lead any credibility to who stole my car I actually have since then bought a new car but I'm still very disgusted and how I was treated by their agent he insisted upon talking to me in a derogatory fashion as if I was some kind of a criminal and criminalize me to death just because I had my car stolen as if it were my fault at all it was stolen on Mother's Day of all days and I was spending time with my daughter we had planned to take a trip to Los Angeles to visit with my other daughter and use my car which that was impossible when I woke up because my car has been stolen I packed out my car with things and stayed at her house prior to that week I have been hospitalized so I stayed at her house because it didn't want to do a lot of physical moving around and we were just going to get up go to church and then head out to Los Angeles well that never happened ruined my entire Mother's Day week end end celebration

One of their insured backed into my new car Their incompetant and *** adjuster proceeded to tell me they will not put OEM parts unless I pay the difference What the heck kind of business practice is this??? I contacted three body shops and my own personal insurance company which is Erie Insurance and their claims supervisor told me they never heard of putting aftermarket parts on a brand new car Now I know why their premiums are so cheap because they suck at paying forclaims

Claims experience

This is the absolute worst company to do business with. I had them as my own company with two houses and 5 vehicles. Until I was involved in a no fault accident with another liberty insured. I was treated very poorly and lied to. (They didn’t know I work at another carrier and know the laws. I kept track of 16 emails and 21 phone calls over a 4week period without a single reply from them with status. I would be fired if I didn’t return calls after 2 days. This would be completely unacceptable where I work. I have since dropped all my personal policies with them after my experience. I filed a department of insurance complaint as well. By law they are required to return calls / emails in a reasonable time frame no later than 3days. And respond to written demands within 15 days. If you have them as a carrier RUN. I will do everything I can to deter as many people as possible to not use them for insurance.

i purchased car ins less than 6 months was just raised 128.00 no tickets no claims just raised it i have paperwork that states my ins is covered for 1 year at one price and then they just raised me i spoked to corporate did not get any were so i will cancel my auto and umbrella policy never will i do business with this company they are scammers i will tell everyone i know do not do business with this company and your commericals are full of crap i am really pissed off no one should be treated this way i will file a complaint with the better business and the attorney general offices

I cancelled my policy and Liberty Mutual owed me money. They said that the first payment was actually for their expenses and not credited to my account.

I opened an automobile insurance account with Liberty Mutual in 2014. I made my first payment and got insurance.

I cancelled my insurance with them last week and they said there is a balance due since all payments are paid in arrears. As they have explained, the first payment was not a first payment at all. It was not credited to my account. It was just for their expenses.

They refer to it as a downpayment. They said I have a month to pay "their balance" or they will send it to collection.

I switched to another company.

I am now getting better coverage than I had with Liberty Mutual. I am saving approximately $1700 a year.

A Real Nightmare!

We have been having an awful experience dealing with Mr. Michael Lopez - Liberty Mutual - Salem, NH.

It has been literally nothing short of a nightmare. A year ago, we bought over 10 insurance policies through Liberty Mutual office in Salem, NH. One year later, we wrote to Liberty Mutual and informed them that we are not interested in renewing any of the policies. Concurrently, we signed and faxed the cancellation forms and got a fax report confirmation.

Liberty Mutual failed to cancel the policies, and billed the renewal premium to two mortgage companies. The mortgage companies paid the premiums!

We have been trying -for over 6 weeks- to get Liberty Mutual to refund us the premiums to no avail! Liberty Mutual failed to even respond to our request for an update on the status of the refunds.

Called an talked with roadside setvice 10:00 am. Was told get someone out. Called 4 more times lady told me she will find out whats going on said she will give me a call back to ley mr know. I said what will.that be another 4hours of course she said no. An no call back. Tow trucker callef me at.12:00 midnight. I had to pay 70.00 dollars to get my car towed at 8:00 that evening. Then they only remiburst me 50.00. To be a top insurance company with their television ad on tv they should be sued for false advertiseing. An this is the first time ever using tow service. I will be dropping my roadside service.

I switched homeowners insurance companies and found that I was paying almost 1000 dollars a year more than other companies were asking for the same coverage. They did the same to me with auto insurance, they told me they were offering the lowest premium (full coverage), but a few months later I once I switched to another company at half their price, then Liberty Mutual could match it but not before.

I will never insure "anything" with them ever again!

I think they are the most over priced, over-rated insurance company on the market, even Allstate has lower rates and they are one of the higher cost insurance companies around. Stay away from Liberty Mutual.
