Liberty Mutual Insurance - Price Gouging Home Insurance
My current insurance is raising rates so I decided to look around. My next door neighbor gave me a copy of his policy with Liberty Mutual and I was shocked to see his policy was 1/3 the cost of what I was paying with my current provider.
So I decided to give them a shot. Mind you my neighbor and I are both married, the same age and income level. Our houses are also very similar. My credit rating, and my wifes are both over 800.
The only debt my wife and I have is our house. In my 20 years of owning a home I have only ever placed 1 home insurance claim after wind damaged half our roof.
I filled out the forms and they sent me a quote. The resultant quote was even more than my current insurance for even less coverage.
Then I compared to my neighbors quote which was also more coverage than I was being quoted for. My quote was for $3.2k and his policy..which I saw line for line...was $1k.
I don't see how this could even be remotely possible, other than these companies being crooks.
Reason of review: Pricing issue.
Preferred solution: Nothing. I want to inform the public of these ridiculious processes..
Location: Cheyenne, Wyoming

Several more factors could be affecting your rate quote. The age of the house (an older house tend to cost more), the past claim history of the house itself.
Also, a higher deductible will lower premiums. However, getting insurance at a rate of 1/3 or even 1/2 of what you are paying now is not realistic!
Raised my auto rates in Fl. $360 a year.
I drive less than 5000 miles a year. Don't use Auto Pay they will just TAKE your money without warning of an increase.
