Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with settlement agreement. I was contacted by my local Liberty Mutual rep and he and his supervisor dilligantly looked into my claim and within a week, I had the repairs approved that should have been initially approved, however, I greatly appreciate Jeffrey Hummel and his supervisor for actually taking the time to READ and understand everything that's happened in my claim.

It's a shame it had to come to this and if I would have received this level of quality care initially, I probably wouldn't have left Liberty Mutual. Keep fighting if you know deep in your heart you're not getting what you deserve and no one will help.

It took me 8 months fighting this to get a resolution. They probably thought since I'm a single woman, I'd give up, but I didn't stop until it was resolved.

I have filed a claim with Liberty and have had SEVEN MONTHS of unreasonable delays, denials and unsatisfactory settlements. This was due to internal negligence, lack of communication between their internal departments, lack of communication from management to me, the insured.

This claim was mishandled in numerous ways, mainly by inorganization - losing photos and reports repeatedly between the ten claims reps my claim went through, along with so many other issues documented in a 17 page timeline. I do not believe Liberty Mutual investigated this claim thoroughly, properly, timely, fairly, nor did they keep it on track. Their internal incompetence has caused unreasonable delays its been SEVEN MONTHS from the beginning of my claim until now and I have zero repairs completed because of the roof dispute. My repairs should have been completed LONG ago, this should have been internally caught LONG ago, not SEVEN MONTHS LATER after I kept on pressing and pressing.

Upon further investigation by reading reviews online, I have found that this is a common thing with Liberty Mutual and most of their insured, now EX INSURED, have had horrible experiences. I believe they did not act in good faith in handling my claim and this is an experience I wouldnt wish upon anyone, much less a single, working Mom like me that has enough on her plate already. I will now have to submit another claim and pay another deductible of $5,444 SEVEN MONTHS LATER and fully expect this to take several months, with multiple issues as well.

This all could have been and should have been avoided if the proper channels would have been taken after my claim was filed. Don't get sucked in from their cute and funny commercials - this company is disgraceful GARBAGE, not mention how overpriced they are - after I closed my account with them and am now insured with a reputable, well-known company, my rates decreased by over $1,000/year!!

Don't I Repeat Don't do Business with Liberty Mutual! They Really put The Screw's to me!

Very unprofessional! I emailed them 25 times and called them 10 times!! I paid my bill on the 25th and Cancelled my policy and still after me for more money????

I am terminally ill with cancer and kidney disease. They lied to me; they increased my bill without any notifications and then lied and said they sent me a letter.

I called asking for a copy of the letter and never got it! They never asked me and gave me a $2500 deductible. I would never have agreed to that. I tried to cancel my policy for three weeks with phone calls and emails, but nobody would talk to me or return my calls!

Now they are saying that I owe them $117.00! I urge you not to do business with them; it’s a big, big mistake!

After my review on pissed consumer, I was contacted with one day after they read the review.They are more then willing to compensate me for my workmans compensation claim. Although they screwed up the whole process and are at fault, I am going yo recieve what is owed to me and consider the matter closed.But i will never ever have and dealings with Liberty Mutual.

Contago Ore is my employer. They pay the big money to Liberty Mutual for insurance. So when accidents happen the little people won't get pushed aside and get stuck with a bill that insurance is supposed to cover.

I broke my front tooth at work or front crown, filed a incident report and filed a workmans compensation claim. Kala Thometz was my point of contact and I believe my claim representative.

Two phone calls a three emails were exchanged before my dentist appointment, I arrived thinking everything was covered due to the last email recieved by Kala, where she told me I had a open and billable claim. The dentist office did not agree, they had spoken to someone else at Kalas office and they told her it was not finalized yet. The dentist gave me options either wait until Kala and Liberty mutual figured out my claim or pay out of pocket. My tooth aching for almost two weeks now, i went ahead and paid the 1900 dollors to have it taken care of.

My repeated attempts to get ahold of Kala are beyond comprehension, countless emails and i call everyday trying to get some resolve. I am struggling financially and thus work.ans comp.claim is covered by my employers policy. I have spoken with a handful of other at Kalas office and nobody can tell me anything except we will get back to you and in turn nobody ever does. I am devastated that I might not be able to pay my rent this month and I have a 4 year old.

There is no excuse as to why I have been treated this way and there is no reason why I have been left in the dark or forgotten about. My claim is legitamit and the lack of proffesionalism and down right disrespect is a reflection on Liberty Mutual itself. If your company treats hard working Americans like the way I have been represented then it's a crying shame. Never in my life have I been involved with such poor interactions with a buisness and there unprofessional employees.
I am seeking a lawyer to raise some *** and already contacted my employer Contango Ore and explained the situation.

But how would I know if there was something missing for my claim or there was something I needed to do to aid in the process, nobody has corresponded with me in almost a month.

Shame on Kala and shame on her department. Nobody has helped me in any area of this claim and I am beside myself.

They increased my bill without any notifications. I called and emailed them 35 times, finally reached someone, asked for notification about raising my bill, and got nothing!

I started canceling my policy the day I made my last payment; now they are saying I owe them $117.00! They wanted to charge me $70.00 more for a paper bill!!!

When she denied adding me, they threatened to cancel the policy and leave us with no insurance. In a panic, she added me to the policy. I tried to call to complain and was told I'm not on the policy. She called back and they told her I was on the policy.

I finally had a chance today to call to ask questions, and the representative, Carly, I spoke with was incredibly rude.

She spoke down to me as well as spoke to me in a slow and condescending manner. When I asked her to go over the details of the policy, she could only tell me that '$1,800 per month is the standard rate for new drivers.' She refused to break down the costs for me and told me I was wasting her time before hanging up on me.

Unless you have multiple accidents, DUIs, underage drinking or any alcohol related crime, NO ONE pays $1800 a month for car insurance.

There's no more detail because liberty mutual has not contacted me. They have yet to give me my $1700 back their thieves.

I canceled my home and auto insurance with Liberty because they raised my rate and went to Allstate. I found out sometime later that Liberty Mutual decided not to close my home insurance and charged me another $1,600.

When I found this out, I requested a refund and, of course, I had to show proof that I was with Allstate, which I did. They said they'd give me a refund, and what they did was pretty underhanded. Supposedly, they put it in a wrong account, one that did not even have my name on it, and now they say that's my problem. I need to figure out a way to get it out of that other account.

I talked to the bank, and since, of course, my name is not on that account, they won't talk to me.

Liberty Mutual refuses to help me out in any way. I doubt that they even put my money in that other account; they're trying to keep it.

My car was stolen and recovered in rough shape. The estimate to fix it was mostly labor charges and they wouldn't allow a cheaper shop to do the work.

The vehicle was totaled and they only wanted to pay ACV instead of honoring my better car replacement policy. I had to pay for the tow bill when it was recovered due to no answer on the roadside assistance number, and they won't reimburse me for the tow bill and didn't honor my rental coverage of $45 per day / $1350.

They said after 30 days I wasn't covered. I had quite a bit of rental allowance left but they wouldn't allow it to me.

Loss:
$4900

Preferred solution: My car replaced at the price it would cost me for the same vehicle to buy.

Saving others from the headache

I wish I could give this insurance company negative stars because my experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. I filed a renters claim on June 30, 2024, after a broken water line in the ceiling caused significant damage.

Common sense dictates that water isnt going to go upwards, as its a liquid that seeps into everything. The process has been frustrating and poorly managed from the beginning. On July 1, the claims adjuster gave me permission via text to dispose of damaged items as long as I had pictures, which I did following her advice. However, a week later, the adjuster called me requesting to inspect the damaged items.

Reminding her that the items were already disposed of per her permission, her demeanor shifted dramatically, and I was questioned as if I were lying about the damage. This abrupt change in tone was shocking, and it felt like I was being unjustly scrutinized for following her instructions. Things only got worse from there. My claim was sent to the SIU department.

She then called a vendor to come and inspect my items, knowing they had been disposed of a few weeks prior with her permission, yet she still allowed this situation to escalate, which is incredibly unprofessional. About 90% of my claim was denied. Its unfair how they can pick and choose what they feel was damaged and the price they choose to compensate you for the items. I had about $20,000 worth of items damaged, and they felt $3,431.00 was what my items are worth.

The method they use to pay you for your items is also disheartening. After receiving my first payment, in order to get the remaining payment, I have to submit receipts of the items I purchased to receive the remaining claim funds. I havent finished purchasing my replacement items as I know what products I can use, and I believe I should be able to choose where and what vendor to use, regardless of the price difference. Customers should not be out of pocket when that is what insurance is for.

As of right now, not even replacing all my items, I am out of pocket about $3,000 so far. The majority of my items were electrical. With no vendor inspecting my items, they deemed my commercial upright freezer was damaged but not other electrical items. I had my makeup in a case that was submerged in a tote full of water.

They determined only some items could be damaged but not others. I had bottles of perfume they claimed only some could be damaged but not others. Since I lost all the food in my freezer, I asked how to claim it, and its been over 60 days with no response. The adjuster accused me of choosing to throw away items that were not damaged by water and for not saving items for them to inspect, which is completely untrue.

Its clear that the adjuster is trying to cover her tracks by shifting the blame onto me. She should be held accountable for her actions and the way she has treated me. What frustrates me the most is that the adjuster is aware that I acted based on her guidance. Instead of taking accountability for her actions, she has deflected blame onto me.

Due to water damage, there is mold which is making me sick. I inquired about loss of use, which was denied. She stated the reason was due to the landlords lack of care for the building, as neither the property owner nor the management company has addressed the issue. So the customer gets punished because the owner is neglectful.

Mold toxicity is serious, but it seems the insurance doesnt care about their customers safety, health, and well-being. This entire ordeal has not only wasted my time but has also caused immense stress during an already difficult situation. In summary, I cannot recommend this insurance company based on my experience. Their communication is inconsistent, and their claims process lacks accountability.

However, it doesnt end there; my roommate has renters insurance with the same company as well. They used information from my claim for his, and his claim was covered 100%.

The claims representative I spoke to literally admitted what he was saying didn't make sense in respect to the accident. There isn't much you can do when someone is being dishonest; they are capable of anything.
